Newberg on my mind...
From April 19th to May 10th I traveled to Newberg, Oregon to
spend time with friends. I had a opportunity to attend the
spring graduation ceremony at George Fox University. It was
fun to share in the excitement of watching friends and classmates
graduate that I went to school with.
I also had the honor and privilege to share about my upcoming
trip to China with the members of First Baptist Church. I was
interviewed by Pastor Frank during the first Sunday I was in
town. I also had a opportunity to set up a display table in the
foyer to further share about China and teaching English. I made
the table a interactive experience by setting out a pair of
chopsticks and a bowl of seeds to allow people to try their hand
at using the chopsticks. I had the table set up for two weeks and
enjoyed meeting people and sharing what China means to me.
Overall, the trip was a positive experience and a nice time being
with people I spent a lot of time with during the last four years.
Hopefully I'll be able to return to Newberg next year to share
with friends and Church family about the year I'll have teaching
English.
...........................................................................................................
A special thank to the following people for inviting me to have
a meal with them during my visit to Newberg. I truly enjoyed
the fellowship and hospitality that we shared. The variety of
foods we ate was delicious and filling.
