under three weeks

July 15, 2006

This is the day I return to Pasadena, Ca to participate in a four
week training so I can teach English in China. I will be living and
working in China for one year. I'm anxious to return and spend
time with the Chinese people and experience the Chinese culture.
I'm equally excited to meet my team mate and the rest of our
teaching team during the training program. I'm also looking forward
to teaching English to students in the Pasadena area while we're
going through the training course. Two words that I've been
reminded of recently have been: honor and privilege. It's truly a
honor to represent America while serving God as a teacher in China.
It was a honor for me to represent America while I was a member
of the U.S. Navy and to be given this opportunity to teach English
in China is a high honor for me. It's also a privilege to step forward
and answer the call to represent my friends and family as a teacher
in a foreign country. Living and working in China is not easy but with
the continual support of my friends and family I'm able to teach my
"future students." I'm not going alone (thank God) but I'm going as
a direct representative of those who are supporting me with prayers
and financial support.
Time will go fast in the next three weeks as I pray, prepare, pack,
say goodbyes, and travel back to Pasadena for training. God has
prepared me for this moment and I'm trusting in God to grant me
a extra dose of energy and a patient heart as I return to China. I
will try my best to uphold the honor and privilege of serving God
while remembering to praise God for this coming year.
